Earlier this year, Presidential Teaching Fellow Dr. Jesse Alemán delivered a keynote address at the Center for Teaching and Learning’s “Success in the Classroom Conference” focusing on Teaching Social Justice. In the context of the current political climate as well as free-speech debates on campus, the keynote address, “Pedagogy of the Pissed”: Teaching Social Justice in a New Era of Anger Mismanagement, challenges instructors, administrators, and the university to engage actively and critically with social justice issues under the banners of academic freedom and freedom of speech.
